SABER NEWS — EDITORIAL POLICY
A Saber News Standard | Published by American Streaming Channel under IRACO Holdings
Preamble
Saber News exists for one purpose: to serve the public with accurate, fair, truthful, and respectful journalism. We are an independently owned and operated news organization that answers to no political party, no donor, no government, and no special interest. We answer only to our audience and to the truth.
This Editorial Policy governs all content published under the Saber News name — across our website, social media platforms, broadcasts, and any future distribution channels. It applies to all staff, contributors, opinion writers, and any individual who produces content on behalf of Saber News. Adherence to this policy is not optional — it is the standard by which all Saber News journalism is measured.
Our guiding principle is simple: For YOU to Decide.
We do not exist to tell our audience what to think. We exist to give them the information they need to think for themselves.
Part I — Core Commitment
1.1 Our Promise to the Public
Saber News is committed to the following standards in all journalism we produce:
Accuracy — Every fact published by Saber News must be verified before publication. We do not publish information we cannot confirm. When information is developing and not yet fully verified, it will be clearly labeled as such.
Fairness — Every story has multiple sides. Saber News commits to representing all relevant perspectives in its reporting without favoritism, selective omission, or deliberate framing designed to lead the reader to a predetermined conclusion.
Truth — Saber News will never knowingly publish false information. We will not distort facts, misrepresent data, or present opinion as established fact in our news reporting.
Respect — Every individual, community, and group covered by Saber News will be treated with dignity and respect regardless of their race, religion, nationality, gender, political affiliation, socioeconomic status, or any other characteristic. Saber News is for everyone.
Independence — Saber News operates free from political, financial, and ideological influence. Our editorial decisions are made solely on the basis of newsworthiness, public interest, and journalistic merit.
1.2 Who We Serve
Saber News serves everyone. We do not produce journalism for a specific political demographic, ideological group, or partisan audience. Our coverage is intended for any person who seeks honest, complete, and trustworthy information about the world around them.
We do not lean left. We do not lean right. We lean toward the truth — wherever it leads and regardless of who it implicates.
Part II — News Standards
2.1 Verification Requirements
Before any information is published as fact in a Saber News article, it must meet the following verification standards:
- Information must be confirmed by a minimum of one credible, identifiable source. For significant or sensitive claims, a second independent source is strongly preferred.
- Claims made by public figures will be reported accurately and attributed directly to the individual making them. Saber News will clearly distinguish between a claim and a confirmed fact.
- Statistical data must be sourced from credible institutions — including but not limited to government agencies, peer reviewed research, and established international organizations.
- Developing stories will be clearly labeled as developing. Saber News will update developing stories as new verified information becomes available.
2.2 Source Standards
Saber News recognizes that some sources require confidentiality to protect their safety, livelihood, or legal standing. The use of anonymous or confidential sources is permitted under the following conditions:
- The information provided by the anonymous source must be independently verifiable through additional evidence, documentation, or corroborating sources.
- The identity of a confidential source will never be disclosed by Saber News without the explicit consent of the source.
- Saber News reserves the absolute right to protect the identity of any source who has been granted confidentiality. This right is non-negotiable and will be upheld regardless of external pressure.
- The decision to grant source confidentiality rests solely with the Editor in Chief.
- When anonymous sources are used, articles will acknowledge that certain information came from a source granted confidentiality without disclosing identifying details.
2.3 Fairness in Reporting
Saber News reporters are required to make reasonable efforts to contact all relevant parties before publication, particularly when reporting information that reflects negatively on an individual, organization, or institution. Failure to respond will be noted in the article.
All sides of a story deserve representation. Reporters must not selectively present information in a manner designed to favor one perspective over another. Cherry picking facts, omitting relevant context, or structuring a story to lead the reader toward a predetermined conclusion is a direct violation of this policy.
2.4 Separating News from Opinion
The separation between Saber News reporting and Saber News opinion is absolute and non-negotiable.
- News articles are strictly informational. They present verified facts, attributed statements, and relevant context without editorial commentary or the personal views of the writer.
- Opinion pieces are clearly labeled as Opinion and represent the views of the named author or the editorial board of Saber News — not the news organization as a whole.
- Reporters assigned to news coverage are not permitted to write opinion pieces on topics they actively cover in order to preserve the integrity of their reporting.
- Opinion content must be grounded in accurate, complete, and fairly represented information. Opinion writers may not cherry pick facts, misrepresent data, or omit relevant context to support their argument.
Part III — Opinion Standards
3.1 The Saber News Opinion Philosophy
Saber News opinion content occupies a distinct and carefully defined space within our journalism. Our opinion is not partisan. It does not serve the left or the right. It does not advocate for any political party, movement, or ideology.
Saber News opinion is grounded in ethics and humanitarianism. We speak on issues that affect the peace, safety, wellbeing, and fundamental rights of people — all people, everywhere. We believe every human being has inherent rights and inherent dignity and our opinion reflects that belief without exception.
Our opinion calls out bad policy when policy is bad — regardless of which party, administration, government, or institution is responsible. We do not grade on a political curve. We hold everyone to the same standard of basic human decency and good governance.
3.2 Opinion Content Guidelines
- All opinion pieces must be clearly labeled as Opinion at the top of the article.
- The author’s name must appear on every opinion piece published.
- Opinion writers must base their arguments on accurate, complete, and fairly sourced information.
- Opinion content that targets a specific racial, religious, ethnic, or other demographic group in a manner that demeans, dehumanizes, or incites hatred will not be published under any circumstances.
- Every opinion published by Saber News reflects the view that all people have equal rights and equal dignity. Opinion that contradicts this fundamental principle will not be published.
Part IV — Sensitive Topic Coverage
4.1 General Standard
Sensitive topics require the highest standard of journalistic care. Saber News approaches all sensitive subject matter with directness, accuracy, and genuine human consideration. We do not sensationalize. We do not exploit. We report.
4.2 Specific Sensitive Areas
Conflict and War — Coverage of armed conflict, civilian casualties, and humanitarian crises will be reported completely and honestly regardless of the parties involved. Saber News will not minimize or exaggerate casualties or humanitarian conditions to serve any political narrative. All parties to a conflict are subject to the same standard of scrutiny and accountability.
Race and Religion — Saber News will never publish content that demeans, stereotypes, or dehumanizes any racial or religious group. Criticism of government policy, political ideology, or institutional behavior is distinct from criticism of a people or their faith and will be treated as such in all Saber News coverage.
Mental Health — Stories involving mental health will be reported with sensitivity and care. Saber News follows established responsible reporting guidelines on suicide and self harm.
Crime Victims — The dignity of crime victims will be respected in all coverage. Saber News will exercise judgment in the publication of identifying information about victims particularly in cases involving minors or sexual violence.
Minors — Saber News will exercise exceptional care in any coverage involving individuals under the age of 18. The identification of minors in sensitive stories requires careful editorial judgment and will default to protection of the minor’s privacy and wellbeing.
Geopolitical Conflicts — Coverage of internationally contested geopolitical situations will reflect the full human reality of those conflicts including civilian impact, humanitarian conditions, and the perspectives of all affected populations. Saber News will clearly distinguish between the actions of a government and the identity of a people.
Part V — Corrections and Retractions
5.1 Corrections Policy
Saber News is committed to full transparency when errors occur. We are human. Mistakes happen. What matters is how we respond to them.
When an error is identified in a published article — whether factual, contextual, or attributional — Saber News will:
- Correct the error promptly upon verification
- Issue a clear correction notice on the affected article identifying what was incorrect and what the accurate information is
- Never silently alter published content without acknowledgment
5.2 Retractions Policy
In cases where published information is found to be significantly inaccurate, unverifiable, or damaging in a manner that cannot be adequately addressed through correction, Saber News will issue a formal retraction. All retractions will include:
- A public statement acknowledging the retraction
- A clear explanation of why the article was retracted
- An honest accounting of what was wrong and how it occurred
Saber News will never retract accurate journalism under pressure from any individual, organization, government, or political entity. Retractions are issued solely on the basis of journalistic integrity — not convenience, political pressure, or external influence.
Part VI — Conflict of Interest
6.1 Political Independence
Saber News will not accept political donations of any kind from any political party, candidate, campaign, political action committee, or politically affiliated organization — regardless of party or ideology. This standard applies to Saber News as an organization and to its parent companies American Streaming Channel and Iraco Holdings.
6.2 Staff Disclosure Standards
Saber News is committed to maintaining a newsroom free from undisclosed conflicts of interest. All individuals who produce news content for Saber News are subject to the following standards:
- News reporters and editors are required to disclose any prior or current political affiliations, contributions, or activities that could reasonably create a perception of bias in their reporting.
- These disclosures are made privately to the Editor in Chief and will be treated with confidentiality. Saber News respects the privacy of its staff while maintaining its commitment to editorial integrity.
- Disclosure is not necessarily disqualifying — it is a standard of transparency that allows Saber News to make informed editorial decisions about assignments and coverage areas.
- Opinion writers are subject to the same disclosure standards. Their political perspectives should be transparent to the Editor in Chief even when not disclosed publicly.
6.3 Outside Employment and Activities
Staff members producing content for Saber News may not simultaneously produce content for organizations whose editorial positions or financial interests conflict with Saber News’s independence and integrity without prior disclosure to and approval from the Editor in Chief.
Part VII — Anonymous Source Protection
Saber News adopts an absolute policy of source protection. The identity of any individual who provides information to Saber News under an expectation of confidentiality will never be revealed without that individual’s explicit consent.
This protection extends beyond the employment of any individual staff member. Former Saber News employees retain the obligation to protect confidential sources even after their affiliation with Saber News has ended.
Saber News will not comply with any request — legal, governmental, or otherwise — to reveal a confidential source without exhausting all available legal protections and remedies first. The protection of sources is foundational to the practice of independent journalism and Saber News treats it as such.
Part VIII — Social Media Conduct
8.1 Professional Standards Online
All individuals who produce content for Saber News and publicly identify themselves as affiliated with Saber News are expected to conduct themselves online in a manner consistent with the values and standards of this Editorial Policy.
Social media activity by Saber News reporters should not:
- Express partisan political opinions that could compromise the perceived neutrality of their news reporting
- Share or amplify unverified information
- Engage in conduct that demeans individuals or groups in a manner inconsistent with Saber News values
- Disclose confidential source information or unpublished reporting
8.2 Personal vs. Professional Accounts
Saber News recognizes and respects that staff members have personal lives and personal views. The standards above apply specifically when staff publicly identify themselves as Saber News affiliates. Staff are encouraged to use good judgment in understanding where their personal conduct may reflect on Saber News’s reputation.
Part IX — Editorial Authority
9.1 Editor in Chief
The Editor in Chief of Saber News holds final editorial authority over all content published under the Saber News name. The Editor in Chief is responsible for upholding the standards of this policy, making final decisions on sensitive editorial matters, and ensuring the independence and integrity of Saber News journalism.
9.2 Policy Updates
This Editorial Policy will be reviewed and updated periodically to reflect the evolving needs of Saber News as an organization. Any updates will be published on SaberNews.com and communicated to all staff and contributors.
Closing Statement
Saber News exists because honest journalism matters. In an era of partisan media, algorithmic outrage, and eroding public trust, we believe there is an audience — a large and growing audience — that simply wants the truth presented fairly and completely so they can make up their own minds.
Sharp news. No spin. For YOU to Decide.
