After accusing Tehran of violating the 60-day ceasefire by launching drone attacks on ships transiting through the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. Military has responded by striking Iran.
U.S. aircraft struck Iranian missile and drone storage locations and costal radar sites. These strikes come after Iran hit a container ship, the Ever Lovely, with a one-way attack drone, according to the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).
In CENTCOM’s statement on X they stated that the “unwanted aggression against commercial shipping by Iranian forces clearly violated the ceasefire.” they also added that “Iran’s dangerous behavior undermined freedom of navigation (through the strait) as commerce increasingly flows through the vital trade corridor.”
